I have always loved tide pooling. I remember going with my family when I was a little kid. The hike out on the rocks to the tide pools, being careful not to step (or in my case, fall) into the water, and the amazing world within each pool of water... I loved it all. I also distinctly remember the time that we were all looking at the various creatures in one particular tide pool. I looked up and immediately began calling my mom's name over and over trying to warn my family that we might want to move. Yeah, they didn't listen to me and we all got soaked by the wave that crashed up onto the rocky ledge we were standing on. Just goes to show them...they should listen to me!
The Oregon beaches are a bit different. We didn't have to hike out to any rocks to view the starfish and sea anemones. There were pools all along the beach that the tides had left behind.
I love all of the different colors...
Ashlyn has become our little mountain goat. She is fearless when it comes to heights and scaled some of the highest cliffs...
I think Landon just enjoyed the fact that he was allowed to get dirty...
Ashlyn found the tiniest sand dollar along the beach...
Still more Oregon to come!
