We practiced getting up earlier a few days before the first day of school. I'm not sure it really worked, at least not for me. Apparently, my body thinks that when the alarm is set for 6:00 it means wake up at 5:00. Not okay.
Ashlyn set her own alarm and was awake at "6:01". I woke up Landon and even though he said he didn't want to go to school, I have never seen him jump out of bed and into the shower so fast.
Now, I know what you're going to say, I get my kids up REALLY early. Here's my thing, I would much rather get the kids up early and have a little extra time than have to rush and end up getting in an argument with them. So we get up early, they get ready and hopefully have a little free time before we head out. It makes for stress free, yell free, tear free mornings. Much better for everyone.
Ashlyn, Fifth Grade
Landon, Third Grade
So, funny story... I was taking some pictures of Landon and Ashlyn. I got a few good ones but Landon kept giving me his fake smile. So I said, "Landon, could you try not to look so constipated..." He asked what that meant and after I explained it to him he and Ashlyn started laughing hysterically.
Have a great year my beautiful kids! I love you always!
