little orphans dance...

Ashlyn finished up dance class for the year and had her recital.  She has been in dance for three years and got to stand with the other returning students who were awarded for their years with the dance studio.

This year Ashlyn chose to do Jazz/Musical Theater.  Her class decided to dance to songs from the musical, Annie.

Ashlyn would walk around listening to the soundtrack on her iPod and it reminded me so much of my own childhood.  I would listen to my Annie tape over and over again on my brown Fisher Price cassette player.  I knew every word by heart.  No my own daughter was listening to the same songs.

Ashlyn was cast as an "orphan" and danced with the other girls around Miss Hannigan...



She did such an amazing job...


Ashlyn's friend who had come with us to the recital joined us for lunch afterwards where we had Mexican food (Ashlyn's favorite).  Such beautiful girls.
