good friends last a lifetime...

Wow, last month really got away from me.  The last week of school was so crazy with all the parties and weird schedules.  When I finally looked at the pictures on my memory card I realized I had completely forgotten to blog some of the fun stuff that we did in May!

For instance, last month we got to spend a day with the Hull family.  I'm pretty sure Ashlyn and Landon asked every day for a week how many days were left until they got to go see them.

The first thing Chris and I did after we arrived was catch up with Jason and Theresa... but Ashlyn and Landon wasted no time before jumping in the pool!

Literally...

It was their first swim of the summer season and they were eager to show off their skills.

Ashlyn and Landon couldn't wait for Kiersten and Brenden to wake up from their naps.  They were in the pool and playing with them in no time!

We even got to visit with Jason's dad, Rich.





I love watching our kids play together.

As I am sure I have mentioned before, Theresa and I met in third grade, when we were just eight years old.  We have pretty much been best friends ever since.  I know there were times over the years that Theresa and I talked about our future husbands and children.  Who they would be, how many we would have, what their names might be...

Now life seems to have come full circle.  We are both married with children of our own.  Not only are our husbands great friends but now we can sit back and watch our children as their own friendship blooms and grows.  Ashlyn and Landon may be a little older than Kiersten and Brenden but I am a firm believer in the fact that friendship can defy age.  They laugh and play together and recently even shared a little FaceTime to say "happy birthday" to Ashlyn!

The day would not be complete without a delicious meal made by our guys while we lounge around... and watch the kids, of course!  
Theresa's little sister, Valerie joined us too!


These two...

...are amazing friends.  They have supported us so much over the years.  They love us and they love our kids.  Good friends may be hard to find but we are thankful that we don't have to look very far to find ours.

That truly is something to celebrate.
