first day back...

Today was the first day of school for Ashlyn and Landon.  Despite being out of practice, our morning went smoothly and everyone fell back into the routine.  I have to say, as much as I don't like getting up early and having to be up and out the door at a certain time, I like having a routine.  I thrive with a set schedule.  I feel more productive and less like the whole day is slipping by without anything to show for it.

I can't get over how old Ashlyn and Landon are getting.  Seriously, I have a fourth grader!  Wasn't I just a fourth grader? (ok, maybe not but it doesn't feel like it was THAT long ago) How did this happen?  I walked Ashlyn to her new classroom today and she was nervous and shy.  She walked into her class to see the new room and I could not believe the giant stack of textbooks piled high on the desks.  Fourth grade is no joke.

Landon gets to loop with the same teacher that he had last year.  He is thrilled and it made for a very confident walk to his classroom.  He didn't even say goodbye as he lined up with his class.  It was like he was saying, "Don't worry Mom, I got this."  I am praying that the schoolwork I did with him over the summer with stick with him and he will be able to easily progress this year.

Happy first day of school to my amazing big kids.  I love you both!
