I am back with my phone pics for the last two weeks. We've been busy!
Two weeks ago we spent the weekend with Hal and Jenny. It was a wonderful weekend. It was the first weekend that we have all spent at their house without Craig. Elease even came up and we got to spend an evening with her. It was nice to be together as a family. I think we will always feel a hole that can never be filled. It is obvious to all of us that someone is missing. I am thankful that we have each other. Please pray for our family this week. We have another "first" coming up as Craig's birthday is on the 15th. I know it will be difficult but God never promised that life would be easy. He did promise that He would never leave us or forsake us and I find comfort in that fact.
Moving on. Hal and Jenny have a mama bird who lay eggs on the pillar by their garage. Her eggs hatched recently and we got to see her and her babies.
We had breakfast on the patio at Panera (where Landon stole Chris' cinnamon roll when he wasn't looking)
and Chris went next door and got me THE BEST iced coffee I have ever had!
Ashlyn performed her own mini-Olympics at the pool and made Emay announce her events.
That afternoon I looked up in the sky and saw five planes that were writing a "GEICO" ad in the sky. We spent so much time watching them write and trying to figure out what the ad was going to say! I guess we are easily entertained.
Landon had been talking about his tooth and how wiggly it was all day. At dinner I decided it needed to come out. He was a little nervous but in true Landon style he giggled when I pulled it out.
I have more pictures of our weekend coming next week!
Last week we had Day Camp at church. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast. In the morning Landon showed me how he is following in Ashlyn's footsteps...
I got my coffee every day at the church's cafe. I love the quote that is written on the blackboard over the barista station...
I was able to catch Ashlyn during rec time...
I sat down with my laptop one afternoon to edit pictures and Landon came and sat right next to me. He gave me a kiss and held my hand.
Basil has to wait to eat until every one of her "people" have finished eating. This particular day I happened to say, "...eat food" in a sentence and her head peeked up over the table. "Did someone say food???"
Chris bought me some beautiful Gerbera daisies last week. They are one of my favorite flowers. He must like me.
We went to a water park with some friends this week. It was the first time my kids have ever been on water slides. They LOVED it! Here is Landon and his friend, Jack, on one of their first slides of the day...
I had my kids clean their rooms this week. I mean, REALLY clean them. We filled garbage bags with trash and made stacks of things we can give away. When I woke up yesterday Landon was sitting in the hallway building with his Kinex. It is amazing what toys you find when everything isn't just crammed in a drawer or shoved under the bed.
Ashlyn went to a cooking class with her friend last Saturday. She learned how to make popovers and told me that she wanted to make them for breakfast. This is the first time she has ever done any baking by herself.
