catch up...

Ashlyn and Landon have been playing fairly well together since summer vacation began.  I think part of the reason is they recently discovered a common love of LEGOs.  

Ashlyn received a LEGO Friends set for her birthday from Papa and Emay and she spent a good deal of time carefully following the instructions to build a two story house.  

Despite a major setback when she set the house on her bookshelf and her bulletin board came crashing down on top of it, smashing it to pieces, she has kept it in one piece.  Of course, Landon has been cultivating his love of LEGOs for years and was thrilled to share it with Ashlyn.  

On Father's Day after a beautiful day at church and a lunch celebrating Chris the kids got to work on building more LEGO creations and even recruited Dad to help them. 

Chris is skilled at building with LEGOs as he and Craig acquired quite the collection of LEGOs over the years.  They both got Landon interested in building.

It was a great afternoon.

Ashlyn received some beautiful gifts for her birthday.  Each one was perfectly fitting of her personality and style.  She wasted no time modeling the items for us...

This was one of her favorite dresses from her shopping spree with Memejo.  

Ashlyn got her first pair of dangly earrings for her birthday.  She was SO excited, and of course, I didn't get a picture of her face when she opened the present.  Believe me when I say that her smile was priceless...
