We were facing more rapids and a greater chance of getting wet this time so I didn't get many pictures. I didn't want to risk destroying my camera, but I did get a few...
Shortly after we saw this eagle we headed into the
rapids. We only hit as high as class 3 rapids but still got really wet…or
so we thought. The captain told us that there was a "small
fall"coming up ahead. We were instructed to put away all of our
electronics because we would be getting wet and they could be destroyed.
He really didn't prepare us for just how wet we would be after the fall.
It was like someone took a five gallon bucket of water and dumped it in
your lap. We were shocked, to say the least.
We docked for dinner (and to dry off) and got to
stretch our legs a little before heading back down the river.
I caught him. Wait for it…
The wind in his hair…
When asked what they thought, both of the kids said this was one of their
favorite activities of the trip. They liked when the captain would spin
the boat and soak everyone inside. People along the riverbed would wave
at us as we sped by and the captain even soaked a group of unsuspecting girls playing along the shore as we raced by them. Landon thought that was particularly hilarious.
more to come...
