oregon road trip, part eight...

We were finally able to tour the Heceta Head lighthouse. It is fairly impressive as far as lighthouses go and is still in use today.

Landon took a little hike up the mountain while we waited for our tour and got some pretty stellar views of the woods and the lighthouse.

The inside of the lighthouse is lined with brick and a black iron circular staircase leads you to the top of the lighthouse.

There are hundreds of prisms surrounding the light which bend the light to signal ships in the night.

On our drive back to California we stopped at another covered bridge.  This one seems to be used quite a bit more than the other we visited.

The bridge floor is covered in wood slats that creak and clack as cars pass over them.

We experienced so many awesome and incredible things on this vacation.  I am so thankful that we got to take this adventure as a family.  These are memories that Ashlyn and Landon will carry with them as they grow older just like Chris and I remember the special trips that we took with our own families while we were growing up.  I particularly love road trips because it forces us to be close together.  I hope when we look back at these pictures they will cause us to laugh and giggle remembering all the fun we had along the way.
