Ashlyn spent the afternoon with a friend last week and it gave me some time to hang out with Landon! We had Jamba Juice, he got a haircut and then we headed to the park for some fun! Much needed vitamin D fix!
Last week Ashlyn decided that she was going to do something different with her hair. She came out of her room and showed me her new style. She said she thought it would look like she has bangs. All I could think was, this must have been how my mother felt when I was in middle school and used to rat my bangs! But I am not one to force my own opinions about clothes and style on my kids. If they want to wear something totally crazy, as long as it isn't inappropriate or offensive, then I won't stop them. Plus, I kinda love that she doesn't care what other people think.

Spring is here! Finally!!
Chris and I finally got to have date night! What could be better than spending time with the one you love plus tapas and mojitos?!
Ashlyn is totally loving dance class this year...
Last week at dinner Landon said, "Dad, can I have more brussel sprouts?" I am so glad my kids love their veggies so much! Not so glad that Landon still eats with his hands...
I am so thankful for God's Word. Isaiah 41:10
Frozen yogurt dessert night! My favorite! The kids were so excited and asked what our next super fun adventure was going to be!
I got to help welcome the new baby of one of my elementary school friends this past weekend!
Here is the "mommy-to-be" and my best friend, Theresa. It's so great to see old friends and share in their big life events!
I love the new t-shirt I got from walk in love. Their shirts are such good quality, are super soft and I love the message behind them!
As I mentioned here I got to spend some time with my sweet grandpa last week.
I took this picture of us and my grandpa thought it was hilarious that he could see himself on my iPhone screen while I was taking the picture.
While daddy was out of town I got to have a movie date with my babies!
I introduced the kids in Landon's class to a little 3D line art this week!
I was a bit confused when I got home from the art lesson and found Basil in her crate surrounded by clothes. This is her, "aren't I a good dog?" face. Unfortunately, the box in the background which she chewed a giant hole through, in order to pull the aforementioned clothes into her crate, begs to differ.
I FINALLY completed the spring wreath I started over a year ago! I completely lost interest and was uninspired until I saw the JDC monthly April collection. The butterflies were JUST what I was looking for!
My sleeping beauty...
Last week my mom and I stopped by the house of my next door neighbors from when I was growing up. Al and Ruthie, or Gamp and Nonni as they would later be called...they have always been like surrogate grandparents to me. They are older, yes, but their faces remain unchanged. When I was just a baby they would come over to my house and ask my parents if I could come over to play. I have so many good memories of them and their family. I remember playing at their house, swimming in their pool and eating lemon flavored Yoplait yogurt. Dominic and I would play out front with their granddaughter who grew to be like a sister to us. The smell of their house is forever etched in my memory and the sound of the wind chime hanging in their backyard instantly transported me back to my childhood. When I was growing up they would chart my height on the door frame of their house. Those pencil marks are still there to this day although they have repainted many times over the years. Al even carries a picture of me at two years old in his wallet and despite the fact that I am old and grown he still affectionately calls me "Peanut".
I feel so blessed to love and be loved by them. To know that although we aren't connected by blood, they will always be a part of my family.
Happy Weekend, Friends!
