It was so nice to see them after so long. I could swear that my grandpa hasn't changed one bit since I was a child. Of course, he is older and thinner than he once was but he is just as blunt and feisty as ever.
I love watching the faces of my kids light up when they spend time with each of their grandparents. They always giggle and joke and make them laugh.
At one point during our dinner, Landon was waving furiously across the room. My dad and I looked at each other wondering who he could possibly know in this restaurant when we realized that he was waving to himself in the mirrored wall.
My kids are always good for entertainment.
After dinner, Ashlyn and Landon ran around on my grandpa's front lawn much like my brother and I used to do when we were their age.
Upa joined them in a game of chase...
Ashlyn showed of her flexibility and dancing skills.
We have let far too much time pass between visits. Unfortunately, I think we all fall into the trap of taking the people we love for granted. We assume that they will always be there.
The reality is that life is short. We don't know how long we have to spend with each of the people in our lives. We need to take advantage of the time that we are blessed with and share that time with the people we love.
