a precious gift

There are some days that God sets apart.  You wake up in the morning and think it will be just like any other day but God has something special in store.  A precious gift.  Saturday was just that sort of day...

Chris and I got to spend the day with Craig and Elease.  We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather and Craig was feeling good.

We visited Yountville and our first stop was Napa Style.

Foodies that they are, Chris and Craig enjoyed visiting Michael Chiarello's shop and sampling food.

We were blessed to have a beautiful lunch at Etoile.

Chris said it was one of the top five meals he has ever had.  Here is our lunch in pictures...

We had a little visitor at lunch...

The food was delicious...

Charcuterie

Smoked Trout Salad, Dungeness Crab, Heirloom Beet Salad

Pork tenderloin, Prime New York, Lamb Loin

Caramelized Pear Mille-Feuille, Meyer Lemon Vacherin, Gooey Chocolate Cake

It was a perfect day.  God blessed us beyond anything we could have expected.

Craig made the decision to not undergo any more chemo.  We fully support his decision to live out the rest of his life without the side effects from chemotherapy.  Please continue to pray for Craig and for our family.  Now we are just savoring...savoring every fleeting moment with a loved one who will soon be with the One he lived for every day.
