a little color...

Every year my kids go to Memejo's house for Easter.  They color eggs, wake up at her house on Easter morning and get new Easter clothes, Easter baskets and then go to church to celebrate Jesus conquering death and rising from the grave.

This year its the first year that they will be at home on Easter morning.  I kind of freaked out for a minute because I have never colored eggs with my kids.

No, really, never.

Of course, I colored eggs with my mom and brother when I was a kid so I had a little bit of an idea what I was doing.  I really did have to stop and think because when you are a kid the dye just sort of appears.  I didn't even know where to start! Thank goodness for my mom...and the directions on the box.

(is it bad that it really bothers me that the dark blue mug that is second from the top of the picture has its handle on the opposite side as all the other mugs?)

I think they had fun.  They had dye, glitter (yes, glitter), stickers and a "magic crayon" that Ashlyn used and announced "didn't work at all".

I love all of the bright colors...

but not the mess...

seriously.  This picture gives me so much anxiety.  Oh and the glitter...I remember now why I hate that stuff.  I am still finding it EVERYWHERE!  I knew a teacher who once told me that glitter is like the herpes of the craft world.  It spreads quickly and you can never get rid of it!  Can't say that I disagree.

Happy Easter!

You obviously didn't inherit my glitter gene. I LOVE glitter :D
Thank God Ashlyn inherited it and it will live on!
