a week with Memejo, part 1

We had a wonderful week with Memejo while Chris was in Chicago.  When my mom said she could come up for the week we made a huge "to-do" list of fun things we wanted to do and I don't think we ended up getting through half of it. It became much more evident, during her visit, that there are not enough hours in the day.   We did have a blast though!

One day while the kids were in school we made a trip to Ikea.  That place is so overwhelming and it cracks me up that they put arrows on the floor to guide you.
PhotobucketThe funny thing is that despite the arrows there are still times when you are walking through the Scandinavian superstore and realize that you have no idea where you are or how to get where you want to be.

I was drooling over the gorgeous kitchen cabinets and counter tops.  If you told me 10 years ago that I would one day be drooling over kitchens I would never have believed you.

and I completely fell in love with this sink...

and oh, how I would love to have a wall of books like this...

The kids also loved having Memejo here and not just because she came up with great ideas like, "let's make the kids homemade milkshakes when we pick them up from school".

(loving the multitasking)

Memejo was a huge help to me.  Especially, since this is what the sky looked like when we woke up the morning...Photobucket
it makes for one very looooong day when it feels like you are waking up in the middle of night!

She helped Ashlyn with her math homework while Landon read out loud to me as I got dinner started.  We've got this multitasking thing down!

(Ashlyn's face pretty much sums up her feelings on math homework)

I think they had a good time while she was here...

I need to end this post.  We are in the midst of heavy packing, homework, and I have to start dinner.  More of Memejo's visit to come....

Memejo misses being there! I would take being a mom of some littles than being a working woman. Oh wait.....we were working with all the homework, cooking and babysitting other people's kids.
I'd still do it again in a heartbeat!
Love you much <3
