The storms did come this weekend with sun peeking through occasionally. We stayed inside and the kids played together all day. This was the scene outside...
Once again we can hear the faint sound of rushing water from the creek behind our house in addition to the loud splattering from some overly full gutters.
The storm seems oddly familiar to a storm we had back in February. June and February have similarities? Who knew!
Birthday Things...
June is a big birthday month for us. We have five birthdays of close friends and family in the span of just one week. To celebrate I pulled out my limited crafting skills and made this...
Festive, right?!
More birthday posts to come as Ashlyn's birthday party is quickly approaching.
Raging Things...
Look at this sweet face...
Melts your heart a little doesn't it? I love the tiny freckles dotting his nose like a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar.
Would you believe that this adorable child can go from cuddly sweet to violently angry within a matter of minutes? In the past week he has thrown tantrums that rival some two year olds. We are talking literal tantrums that, until I had kids, I thought only really happened in the movies. Who's child really ever throws themselves on the floor and kicks and screams?! Certainly not any child of mine. Boy, was I wrong. I never expected to have a child who was almost six years old throwing tantrums.
We have discovered that technology of any kind easily angers Landon. Anything from TV to iPads to Wii will usher in screaming, crying, frustration and tantrums. He never used to care about playing Wii until he visited a friend's house and came home talking about how "awesome Super Mario Bros. is". I'll admit I enjoyed playing Super Mario Bros. on my Nintendo when I was younger. It did not, however, send me into fits of sheer rage. Landon needs only to talk about playing Wii and he is suddenly frustrated and shouting. We tried time limits which promptly brought on fits when the timer went off. Our conclusion is that for right now technology and Landon just don't mix. He is free to play with the piles of toys that have long been forgotten since he started playing Wii. He still begs to play but has yet to be successful. He truly thinks he is going to win this fight but...he has another thing coming.
But seriously, just look at that face...
Happy last week of school!

As I already mentioned, I love the balloon wreath! What a great way to announce "We are having birthday celebrations here!"
I am looking forward to LOTS of pictures of Ashlyn's party since I won't be there.
I truly believe that is why God makes kids cute so you don't harm them when they do the stuff that Landon does. LOL. When he asks to play some video game just imagine that the bell for the round just dinged. Your job is to win the round(s). No matter how many there are! Happy parenting :D
You are the most creative person! I LOVE the wreath! Also loved the picture of the rain drops on the ground and the pictures of your beautiful boy. Kids definitely challenge us. But I agree with your mom, that is why they are so darn cute...especially when they are asleep!
