One of the highlights of our camping trip was getting to visit Dominic at the property he has been working at in Bonny Dune.
His love for the area is so apparent. He cooked us dinner & told us stories about his time there. The community is still living in the aftermath of the fires that devastated the area in 2020 but Dominic shared the beauty of a neighborhood of people ready & willing to rebuild.
You can't beat the views. Before the fires many of the residents didn't know they had views of the Pacific Ocean from their properties. Beauty from the ashes...

and we enjoyed unparalleled views of the sunset...
The destruction is very much still visible almost everywhere you look but it reminded me of Ecclesiastes where we learn that for everything God has a season, a time for every matter under heaven. It brings to mind that out of the ashes will comes new life. God is the great Redeemer after all.
