beach day...

Ashlyn & I had our annual beach trip with the Craig girls. We went to Rio Del Mar & the weather was absolutely perfect. The girls wasted no time & headed straight for the water...

It's crazy to me that April & I have been friends for 27 years. We met at church camp when she was 14 & I was 16. Long before the days of cell phones & texting, we wrote letters back & forth & occasionally talked on the phone. We talked about boys & life, school & families. I was staying at her house the weekend of the Quartet Convention when she met her husband who just so happened to be friends with my Chris. We were in each other's weddings & I was even in the room when her fist baby was born. We shared a lot of life in those 27 years.

When they were little I used to watch Cydney & Lilly while April was at work. Cydney & Ashlyn would play together for hours. Landon & Lilly were small enough that I could put them both in a clothes hamper & push them around the house while the giggled. We used to call them "the twins" because they both had blond hair & blue eyes & despite being 8 months apart, they were just about the same size. 

Now they are all grown up & older than April & I were when we met! 

My beautiful girl, so grown up. Crazy how time flies.

We had a great day all around!
