camping, part one...

In August we had our annual camping trip.  We were joined by our friends, the Jensen family, again this year.  We chose Lake Tahoe as our destination again.  It never disappoints.

The kids were particularly taken with the Jensen's hammock, Lamzac and of course, the fire pit...

You already know from years past that I love mornings around the campsite.  The air is crisp and cool and although it takes a little bit of an inner pep talk to get me out of my comfy warm sleeping bag I love it so much.  Landon is usually one of the first ones up so he and I can cuddle by the fire that Chris built while everyone else is still sleeping.

Cuddling in the hammock isn't too bad either.

Ashlyn learned a valuable lesson on this trip that every woman must eventually learn...why you don't ever, ever, ever, EVER dry shave.  The poor girl had a serious case of razor burn and nicks all over her legs.  I didn't envy her when it came time to put on sunscreen.  Ouch.

After breakfast we headed out on a hike/bike ride over to the lake. Ashlyn, ever the "collector" found some treasures along the way.

Tahoe is seriously one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Ashlyn's "Little Mermaid" impression...Landon's lake yoga pose...

Please don't ever stop holding my hand...

More of Tahoe coming soon!
