random December things...

The Story is all over.  It was so exhausting but such a tremendous blessing.  I am so thankful that God chose me to be a part of this ministry.  Every aspect of The Story; the wonderful people I've met, the backstage craziness, the art, the cast, the makeup team, the music and especially the spreading of the Gospel are such amazing things to be a part of.

I spent the week relaxing and trying to recover from the long nights.  A little coffee always helps (in my new mug from The Fresh Collective Co).

Landon was my constant companion this week.  We thought he was just tired and had a little cold.  After two days of fever we took him to the doctor and found out he had walking pneumonia.  After seeing him laying on the table the doctor commented that he MUST be sick because she's never seen him so still.  A little antibiotics and he is quickly recovering.  Thank God for meds!

Chris and I got a chance to see The Head and the Heart in concert with some friends.  I've loved the band ever since I first heard their music a year or so ago.  Hearing them live was such a great experience!

Ashlyn was chosen to be Student of the Month!  I'm so proud of her.  She really is one of the hardest working students I have ever seen.  She even came home from school at the start of the two week Christmas break and finished all of her homework assignments so that she could enjoy the time off.  She is such a responsible kid.  Did I mention that I'm proud?

We got to enjoy some amazing Christmas lights on our annual family night.  We saw some crazy light displays.  The kids especially liked the house that's lights were set to music.

It's no secret that I haven't been in a very "Christmasy" mood.  I'm not even really sure why.  I saw this quote the other day and I thought it really hit the nail on the head.  Christmas isn't about a feeling.  Christmas is about Christ.  He was born, He lived a perfect life, He suffered on the cross for my sins, and He rose again, conquering death.  I am thankful that I don't need the "Christmasy" feeling because I have Christ and that is all I will ever need.

Merry Christmas!
