a Disneyland Christmas, part two...

Ashlyn and I slept in the same bed on the trip.  Actually, sleeping is probably an exaggeration.  I didn't get much sleep.  This picture may explain why...

It was Christmas Eve and the park was not as busy as it had been the previous days.  We were able to hit a lot more rides with much shorter lines.

We visited Pirate Island.  The kids love exploring the caves and finding treasure.

This was the game Ashlyn and Landon played as we waiting in the long lines.  They also added a little ro sham bo to mix it up and keep them occupied.  These were the only characters we were able to take pictures with during our trip.  The lines were abnormally long and when we found a character and got in line the characters inevitably had to leave.  Kind of a bummer.

Speaking of bummers, we got stuck on Alice in Wonderland…again.  Every.  Single.  Time.  We get on this ride and it just breaks down.  I wish I was kidding.  This time we were stuck outside in an area where they were unable to unload us.  We sat in our caterpillar for about 20 minutes as the remaining people in line stared at us like we were zoo animals.  Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
While we were boarding Star Tours we encountered a couple of Storm Troopers.  This particular one stopped to interact with Landon and even played a trick on him.  He thought it was "totally awesome".  Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMugPhoto & Video Sharing by SmugMug
The roads are no longer safe...

Gorgeous Christmas Eve sunset.  God really knows how to put on a show.
This was completely unplanned.  We went to see our picture after the ride was done and three of us just happened to do the same thing.  The one time we get Landon to smile for the camera...

We woke early on Christmas morning and despite having no presents to open we had a blast (once we assured the kids that their presents were waiting for them at home).
I don't ride the teacups.  I love the ride.  It's a classic.  But you won't ever see me on it.  Probably because I would look like this if I did…I will ride Thunder Mountain though…again and again and again...

Ashlyn asked me to take a picture of her sitting on this bench. She remembered that it used to be hard for her to get up on the seat and that it looked really big at the time.  My, how time flies. And with that we made our way out of the park.

Disneyland hit maximum capacity on Christmas day and they shut the gates to the park.  We could still get in because we were in the initial headcount but it was crazy crowded.  Overall, we had a blast.  It was such a good decision.  We hit every ride, we laughed and we enjoyed every minute spent together.

A merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
