Landon has a few friends who will also be characters from Harry Potter. In fact, he has a little red-headed friend who has been Ron Weasley for the past three years. Landon was excited to be the Harry to his Ron. Landon went back and forth on his costume. After we purchased his robe he questioned whether he should have gotten Harry's Quidditch costume and then there was a point where he wished he would have chosen the Snape costume. He is now happy with his choice and was especially eager to get into character…
Ashlyn just really wanted to get the costume right. We had a mini-meltdown when she saw a picture of Hermione wearing a skirt and said that the pants that she had picked out just wouldn't do. Thankfully, a friend offered to let her borrow a skirt to complete her costume. Ashlyn tried to look especially thoughtful explaining that Hermione is really smart and thinks a lot.
They recited some of the spells that they had memorized while I was taking pictures.

Which resulted in Landon…I mean, Harry's glasses getting knocked off.
As it turns out, Ashlyn really loves her costume. Recently, she asked if she could watch one of the Harry Potter movies on the laptop. I told her she could and a little while later I passed by her room and came across this…
She was dressed as Hermione, twirling her wand and watching Harry Potter. I quickly ran to grab my camera.
