twinkle toes...

Soccer season started for Landon last month.  This year he jumped up into into the U-10 age bracket and the games have gotten a lot more exciting!  The boys are still getting used to the bigger field, larger goals and having a goal keeper.

Chris, although incredibly busy with work, is helping to coach Landon's team again this year.   photo IMG_0494_zps5621b41d.jpgAfter a few pointers, the game was off and running.   photo IMG_0485_zps508bcb99.jpgThis year Landon attempted to get the brightest shoes he could find.  Not that this is different from any other year.  When it comes to shoes Landon is nothing if not consistent…just give him the brightest pair of Nike's you can find and he will be happy.   photo ca226fdb-5b62-4208-aea8-722ea697d313_zps7b7a3e97.jpg photo 09fa5762-d007-4e08-bfaa-20ecd23f4a4b_zpsa2fedd52.jpgLandon has been practicing quite a bit and has gotten a lot better at dribbling and maintaining control of the ball.  During this particular game he earned the name "twinkle toes" due to a sweet move where he popped the ball up and over the feet of three opposing players, skipped over them himself and continued dribbling down the field.  Ashlyn, who is not the biggest fan of soccer or watching soccer games even stopped and said, "Did you see that?!  That was awesome!" photo 184ef0f9-039e-4d86-a32f-4c340b6dd3c8_zps6a3b3247.jpg photo IMG_0476_zpsc5f017c2.jpg photo IMG_0471_zps4c18d75c.jpg photo IMG_0488_zps16ebd0b3.jpgAnd then he got a chance to be goalie.   photo IMG_0495_zps232d476d.jpg photo IMG_0500_zps7a3e6b7d.jpg photo IMG_0501_zps26fcca3a.jpgDon't let the concerned look on his face fool you; he's not afraid.  He concentrates hard, watches the ball and will get in there and grab it when it's needed.  He did a great job and I am really proud of him.   photo IMG_0502_zps1e8391d5.jpgLooking forward to a thrilling season of soccer!   photo IMG_0504_zps725a6144.jpg
