Mission San Juan Bautista sketch...

My dad recently commissioned me to draw a picture of Mission San Juan Bautista for Molly.  It is one of her favorite places and she has always loved the sketches she had seen of the building.  It took a while but here is the finished product…photo IMG_0239_zpsdddfaef9.jpgphoto IMG_0242_zps768ac564.jpg
The mission's landscaping seems to change a lot but once I found a picture with the best garden it came together.  photo IMG_0240_zps0518c2a2.jpgphoto IMG_0241_zps3c46bcb8.jpg
My dad recently gave the framed sketch to Molly and she was completely surprised.  I got to be there to see her reaction…

I realized I have done a lot of drawing so far this year!  It has been a lot of fun sharing my love for art with Ashlyn and Landon.  From helping Ashlyn learn to draw or teaching art in their classes, it seems like we are always doing something art related.  Being the art docent for their classes this year was a bit challenging.  There are just some kids who don't like art and have no interest in even trying.  However, it is so awesome when you see a kid put in a tremendous effort and then seeing the satisfaction on their faces when they see their accomplishments.  Ashlyn and Landon were both surprised this year by their own abilities.  Makes my mommy heart proud!
