Landon had a birthday party with his friends at Qzar the day before. I don't have any pictures of that event because:
1. eight year old boys are crazy wild
2. I was going insane from the sound of the obnoxious arcade games
3. did I mention eight year old boys are crazy?!
When the day of the family party arrived Ashlyn and Landon couldn't wait to hang out with everyone and show off their new skills. They had been skating a lot!
Landon and Olivia hanging out and being goofy...
Ashlyn showed everyone that she could successfully skate down the driveway and into the street. She had been practicing a lot and it totally paid off! I'm so proud of her for sticking with it. I think her happiness is pretty evident!

We got to see Dominic and Alicia that day too! It always makes me so happy when I get to spend time with my brother. He has such an infectious happy, carefree attitude and he gives the best hugs. Ashlyn and Landon love having him around too. He always plays with them and is goofy and fun, just like the big kid that he is.
As usual, Chris made an awesome dinner. Pulled pork sandwiches with homemade slaw, grilled corn on the cob (my favorite!), homemade fries, and nectarines. So yummy!
Jenny and I were on dish duty again but Jenny ended up kicking me out of the kitchen since my birthday was one of the ones we were celebrating. So instead I took pictures of her making silly faces.
Jenny also made a gluten free red velvet cake for us. It was so rich and delicious ...

After dinner it was back out side for more fun and games.

Then Landon decided to put on a show of his own...a little homerun derby action.

We all enjoyed spending the day together. There is something so comforting about having the whole family together under one roof. Knowing that at any time you can reach out and hug someone you love is one of the greatest feelings in the world...
