beach day with Dommy...

It's no secret that I love fall.  I love the start of cooler temperatures and the excitement that comes with winter holidays.

I realized recently that there are a lot of things that I love about summer too.  I like the laziness of days spent by the pool that contrast perfectly with the busy days spent running around doing all of the fun things we can't do when we are in school.  Going for a walk in the middle of the day with the kids.  Barbecues, getting to spend time with friends and of course, days spent on the beach with family.  

One day I packed up the car and the kids and I ventured over the hill to visit Dominic. We spent the day with him, checking out his new neighborhood, visiting the beach and catching up.

Dominic brought his bocce ball set to the beach and taught the kids how to play.  

Ashlyn and I played for a while and then I stopped to take pictures and Ashlyn opted to explore the rocks.  

Landon continued to play, partly because he liked playing bocce ball (or any sport for that matter) but mostly because he loves playing with Dominic.


The kids jumped in the surf and ran from the waves as they crashed on the beach...


It was a gorgeous day with the perfect amount of sun and not a cloud in the sky...


Landon enjoyed checking out the boogie boarders riding in on the waves... 

while the rest of us made sure we weren't in the flight (bird poop) path of the large quantity of pelicans that soared through the sky that day...

I love the beach.  

I promised Dominic that I wouldn't put "too many" pictures of him on my blog.  This one was a great picture of his amazing smile so I had to include it.

On Monday we leave to go camping for three days.  I am sure I will have plenty of pictures to share with you along with all of the pictures that I haven't had time to post because of our busy summer days.
