I think I crammed more into this week than the last 5 weeks combined. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend! Here is a look back at our week, instagram style...
Last week Landon's class went on a field trip to Smith Family Farm. When he was in Kindergarten his class went to the same farm to pick out pumpkins in the fall. Spring on the farm was a whole new experience. The kids got to see the animals, learn about insects, feed the chickens, plant flowers and tomatoes and check out the greenhouse.
In addition to chickens and ducks the farm also has about 10 peacocks.
This one seemed to be a little confused because he kept strutting and showing off but not for the other peacocks. Nope, he was showing off for the chickens.
One of Landon's favorite parts of the trip was digging for worms.
Ashlyn likes to pick out her own clothes. I don't have a problem with her picking out what she wants to wear. She has her own style and will often pair flowers with stripes or polka dots. Many times she goes for a monochromatic theme as was the case this particular morning when she dressed for school as what I can only assume was the pink power ranger...

Over the weekend I was a bit bored (the calm before the storm) and was feeling creative so I decided to give myself a fun manicure...

This was my view from a trampoline last week where I proceeded to mess up my back and have been in pain ever since. Yet another reminder that I am getting old!

Here is an example of how crazy our week was...Chris had used the scissors and swore he put them back. We searched everywhere trying to find them. While he was on a business trip I was getting ready to cook dinner and when I went to reach for a wooden spoon I found the scissors. Stress brings on absentmindedness. In his defense, he did put them away! Love you, Babe!

It is so relaxing to sit and read with Ashlyn. We are currently reading "The Silver Chair". Craig left Ashlyn his large "Chronicles of Narnia" compilation so now she and I can read and follow along together.
After reading with Ashlyn I found Basil curled up in her bed with a rag towel.

Poor deprived dog doesn't have a blankie and has to resort to snuggling with an old rag.
On Fridays after school we often go to the park with a group of friends. Last Friday Ashlyn was playing near a pine tree with low hanging branches. A little girl was jumping on one of the branches and it whipped Ashlyn in the eye. After a thorough inspection I discovered that Ashlyn had a scratch on her eye ball. So we were off to the doctor. Poor thing, she was in so much pain...

It cracks me up when he sits with his legs crossed like this.
The doctor confirmed that Ashlyn had a corneal abrasion.

This is the THIRD time Ashlyn has had a corneal abrasion! I told her that I was going to have her start wearing protective goggles like basketball players wear. Who doesn't want to look like Kareem Abdul Jabar??

Ashlyn was prescribed antibiotic eye drops to ensure that she didn't get an infection and we had to set an appointment for an eye check for Saturday morning. Not exactly how we had planned to spend our Saturday but we decided we would make the best of it. After the doctor appointment confirmed that her eye had healed (eyes heal super fast) we headed off to the park in our old neighborhood.

The kids hadn't been to the park in San Ramon for a few years and it had been remodeled. They loved the water, especially on such a hot day.

I thought I would try to get a cute sibling picture while we were at the park...

(who says they have to be looking at the camera).
And that was our week! I have a project that I am working on right now and am desperately trying to finish. Unfortunately, I am at a bit of a standstill while I wait for supplies. I will share more with you when it is completed but here is a little teaser...

Have a great weekend!
