I figured that if we had the day off we should do something fun with it! This project is super simple and the kids loved it! All you need is a glue gun, a canvas, a box of 64 count crayons, and a hairdryer.
I separated the crayons into rainbow order and removed all the blacks, grays, white and browns. I didn't have enough crayons to cover the entire top of the canvas so I added a few more of my favorite colors from a couple of other boxes of crayons we had lying around.
I hot glued the crayons to the top of the canvas.
The kids couldn't wait to help out! We each took turns using the hairdryer (on high/hot) to melt the crayons...
Here is the final result...
I love it! I love the colors...they make me so happy! I love that the kids and I made it together and I can't wait to hang it up in our home. Plus, one of the best parts...it only cost me $4.99!! I had all the materials except for the box of crayons! How great is that?!
I have been trying to decide on a place in our house to put our desk and all of my art/craft stuff and I wanted something inspiring to hang above it... I think I just found it!
