The kids have had no problems making the most of the beige-ness...
breaking out the jump rope, hula hoops and rollerblades. It helps that we don't have any furniture to fill up this room or to get in the way of the jump roping and hula hooping.
Yesterday, while Landon was at a friend's house I had to get out of the house and away from the beige. Color. That's what I needed, color. So Ashlyn got on her bike and off we went to find some.
And color we did find. The unseasonably warm weather brought a little spring to the grey January day.
I love trees...
and this smile.
We came home and played a board game and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.
I think that I have been very selfish lately. I have been talking to the kids about selfishness and realize I have been struggling with it myself. God does work in mysterious ways. I find that a lot...just went I am trying to teach the kids about something God reveals the ways that I have been struggling with that exact issue myself although I never saw it. Ultimately, my motivation should be centered on God and His objectives instead of being preoccupied with myself. I thank God for His grace and for His forgiveness despite my many failures and for providing a little color when all I can see is beige.

It's been so long that I have seen the kids that Ashlyn's short hair has grown long again!
Very creative entry!!
That picture of Ashlyn's smile is an exact copy of your smile!!!
