Andrew McMahon adventures...

My little 90's girl & I got a night out last week. We got tickets for the Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness concert at the Fox Theater in Oakland! Our first stop was Ashlyn's choice of Gott's Roadhouse for dinner.

Dinner was delicious but what happened after was just crazy.

Chris didn't want us driving to the Fox because it's not in the greatest part of town & there are no parking lots close by which would mean we would have to walk around the streets of Oakland. He suggested that we take Uber instead. This was my first time using Uber. Chris uses it all the time & I've been with him when we traveled by Uber but I didn't have the app myself.  Our ride TO the restaurant was great.  Our driver was personable, funny & kind.

When we requested a driver from the restaurant everything quickly headed downhill.  After a few minutes I realized our driver was not coming to the restaurant (where we were) but had changed his arrival location to somewhere down the street. He then called to tell me that he had "arrived". Ummm...not so much. Having never used the app before I assumed that I had done something wrong but I now think he just decided to go to wherever he wanted to go instead of the address that I needed.

Ashlyn & I hurried to meet him at his new location which was about a mile away. We finally got to where our driver had gone & I looked down & realized that the tickets to the concert had fallen out of my purse. We had him take us back to Gott's, assuming that they had fallen out while we were eating dinner.  We checked with the managers but no one had turned in any tickets. They took my name & number just in case something showed up. We told the Uber driver he could leave because
1.if we didn't have tickets, we weren't going to the concert
2. it was going to take us a while to locate the tickets
3. I honestly didn't want to ride with him...he was kind of a jerk

So, Ashlyn & I retraced our steps, determined to find our lost tickets. I was really fearful that they had been thrown away at the restaurant but when we were halfway back to the place where the Uber driver picked us up Ashlyn found the tickets! They had fallen out on a bridge over water! I am not exaggerating when I say that we were beyond excited to have found our tickets. Also, the Uber driver who ended up taking us to Oakland was hilarious & had a wide taste in music - definitely not sorry we didn't go with the first one.
The concert was amazing & Ashlyn & I had a blast singing along to all the songs.  Also, there was a girl a few rows behind us who was screaming throughout the concert.  Like not the usually cheering for an artist but literal screaming bloody murder. SO. ANNOYING.
We were bummed that Chris couldn't come with us to the concert because Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness is his favorite band. We sent him some videos so he could enjoy the concert as he flew home.
It was quite the adventure with our lost Uber driver, lost tickets, found tickets & fantastic concert. I had the best time with you, Ashlyn!
