It was fitting that our first ride was Space Mt.

We hadn't been to Toon Town for a while. I didn't realize quite how long until Landon told us he didn't remember Toon Town at all. Like most parents with little kids we frequented Toon Town when our kids were little but as they got older we spent less & less time there.

Thunder Mountain fun!
It was overcast & cold while we were there but it was nothing compared to the cold we experience in Disneyland last year.

We ate so much good food at the park.

We also walked... a lot. Chris wore his iWatch while we were in Disneyland & it calculated that we walked 12.8 miles on New Years Day! Needless to say, we were SORE! We took a much needed break in the Animation Academy building. We used to do this when Ashlyn was little & she would watch the videos & dance & twirl to the music playing as if she was the only one in the room. Chris decided to recreate the experience much to Ashlyn's embarrassment.

The Kylo Ren photo bomb. The obsession continues...

World of Color...

January 2nd & Gluten Free Mickey waffles for the win!

Pirate Island...

Right after we left the island we ran into Jack Sparrow who recruited Ashlyn for his crew...

Ashlyn also got to meet Kylo Ren. Don't tell Jack Sparrow but I'm pretty sure she would jump ship & join Kylo Ren in a heartbeat.

This is called totally starstruck fangirl mode...

Our final ride of the trip, before we headed to the airport for our late flight home, was Guardians of the Galaxy. I had a love/hate relationship with the Tower of Terror but this ride is seriously intense. I don't know if I just rode Tower so much that I got used to the drops but there seems to be a lot more ups & downs on the Guardians ride.

Yeah...the love/hate relationship continues.
We had an amazing trip. It was the perfect way to usher in the New Year. I hope that years from now we will all remember the sweet memories made at the happiest place on earth.
Happy 2018, friends. I pray that it is a good one!
