Tahoe 2017, Mansion Beach...

Camp mornings are my favorite - only to be rivaled by campfires at night but I'll get to that later.

Chris is always the first person awake & is up making a fire & starting breakfast long before anyone else has even opened their eyes.  I am usually the next one up.  We generally have about 30 min before we start hearing the kids stirring in their tents.

Breakfast & a fire...nothing better.

Our first full day in Tahoe we took a walk through Sugar Pine State Park down to Mansion Beach.

We continued to be amazed by how much water there was in the creeks & streams.

Last year on this walk we crossed this very bridge & when we peered over the side it was almost completely dry.

Nothing was more spectacularly full than the lake itself.  Last year we sat on the rocky shore of Mansion Beach and had about 25 yards of beach behind us.  This year, there was no beach.  Like at all.

Bushes that were previously growing on dry land were now emerging from the water.

And this pier was at least 8 feet above water last year! Now it is almost skimming the water.

High or low, Tahoe is so gorgeous & tranquil.  I could spend hours there just gazing out over the lake & the surrounding mountains & never grow tired of any of it.

I think they agree...
