summer recap: skate day...

Yeah, so...I suck.

We have less than one week left before school starts back up and I hardly posted any pictures from our summer.  We were busy but it's not like our summer was insane.  I had the time.  I really have no excuse.  So, here is a little recap of some of our summer adventures, starting with a skate day in Napa.

I guess I should clarify, it was a skate day for Ashlyn and Olivia but it was a bike day for Landon.   Back in June Landon got a BMX bike as an early birthday present.  Since his birthday is at the end of the summer we gave it to him early.  We wanted him to be able to get a lot of use out of the bike before he went back to school. Olivia helped put it together & then suggested he bring his bike when we went to the skatepark in Napa.

Landon didn't waste any time when we got there...

Ashlyn and Olivia skated and Olivia helped Ashlyn out on some new skills.  Ashlyn loves to skate at home but has only been to a couple of skateparks.  I think it might still be a bit intimidating but I have to give her a lot of credit for getting out there and trying her hardest.

Landon has been obsessed with bike ramps recently.  He and his friends build bike ramps in the street at home with anything they can find.  Wood boards, pallets, cardboard...some work a tad better than others. Every time I see Landon on the homemade bike ramps I want to say "ever take it off any sweet jumps?"  The skatepark provided a ton of ramps that were a bit more sturdy than the ones at home.

I finally got a picture of Landon with a natural expression...and then there's Ashlyn.  She said she was trying to make a weird face.  Thanks for that.
The wind was insane that day.  Like 25-30mph.  Made for some interesting pictures but helped us create crazy mustache selfies.

Landon took a break in the warm sun and watched Olivia get some crazy height...

This may be my new favorite pictures of him...

It was a fun day for all and Basil even got some love when we got back home.
