I don't love traffic. I may or may not suffer from a bit of road rage...but that is a topic for another time.
At the end of the July, the kids and I took a road trip with Memejo to the Marin Headlands. Sadly, that day the sky was blanketed in a thick fog that enveloped the Golden Gate Bridge. It briefly appeared to be clearing and we could just make out the base of the bridge. Unfortunately, it quickly disappeared back into the fog.

We took turns doing jumps off of this stump. For some reason I only have the picture that my mom of me doing a high kick. I was laughing too hard and had to jump off, mid kick, so I wouldn't fall.

We visited Battery Townsley. According to the National Park service website, it was a casemated battery that mounted two 16-inch caliber guns, each capable of shooting a 2,100 pound projectile 25 miles out to sea. We explored the cement ruins that housed over a hundred soldiers during World War II who, if necessary, could be ready to fire on five minutes warning.

We also checked out the Point Bonita Lighthouse.

The bridge leading to the lighthouse sways as you walk across it. Bridges are NOT my favorite things. Yeah, they are nice to look at and a great feat of engineering but I don't like walking or driving over them. If I never had to cross one again I would not be sad. Just saying.

Can you feel the love?

I actually got one with them both smiling...and no one saying "don't touch me!"

More on our Marin Headlands road trip to come...
