Two weeks ago she did a complete 180 and said she wanted to cut her hair. I made her wait it out for a couple of weeks, despite her asking every single day if she could get her hair cut, just to make sure she was 100% confident in her decision to get a substantial haircut.
As you can see she didn't change her mind...
She keeps saying how heavy her hair was and how light it is now. She loves flipping it from side to side. I think I remember her doing the same thing the last time she cut off her hair in 2012.
Ashlyn told me that she wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love. They are a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. As a family who has been personally touched by cancer, in both family and friends, and seen the effects it can have we are more than willing to donate. I am so proud of Ashlyn for having such a giving spirit. She has such a compassionate heart.
