mini getaway...

Chris travels quite a bit for his job.  This year he has had a business trip every month that was at least a week in duration.  Sometimes the trips are not super exciting and he spends most of his time in conference rooms throughout the day.  There are a few times when he gets to go to fun locations and gets to treat clients to sightseeing and delicious dinners.

Chris recently had a trip scheduled to Las Vegas for a trade show.  He thought it would be fun for me to fly out once he was done working so that we could have a little mini vacation.  Chris and I rarely get away by ourselves so I was really looking forward to the opportunity to get away!

This was the view from our room at the Venetian...
When we came back I showed Ashlyn and Landon this picture of the gondolas and the canal that runs through the Venetian.  Landon said, "EW! I bet they go for rides and then they kiss…gross!"
Landon was impressed with this picture of the ceiling in the Bellagio.  I taught an art lesson to his third grade class about Dale Chihuly so he knew all about this artwork and how it was created.

From day...

to night…
We checked out the water show at the Bellagio and felt very "Oceans 11"...

I didn't take a lot of pictures while we were there but we had a lot of fun on our trip.  We walked A LOT, ate delicious food, saw some "interesting" things, shared dinner and some sites with great friends, and finally relaxed.

A much needed vacation with my favorite person.
