skip-bo...

Landon had been requesting a family game night for a few days.  Unfortunately, we always had something going on that kept us all from sitting down together.  When we finally found a free night Chris broke out Skip-Bo.  photo IMG_0379_zpsf11dbaf6.jpgIf you are like me you've probably never heard of Skip-Bo.  I'd never heard of or played the game before the Johnsons introduced it to me.  Now, anytime I think of Skip-Bo I am reminded of the first trip I ever took with Chris' family.  It was Thanksgiving and we went down to Taft to spend the holiday with Chris' Donpa and Big Mama.

Chris and Craig had been playing Skip-Bo at their grandparent's house since they were kids and they both took it pretty seriously.  That year, Chris taught me how to play the game while we were there and we all had a lot of laughs while crowded around his grandparent's dining room table.

Ashlyn was a little irritated that Landon was getting help and also happened to be winning at this point in the game.  photo IMG_0385_zpsfec16652.jpg

The tables turned, as they tend to do very quickly in Skip-Bo, and Ashlyn ended up winning the game.  She was not shy about her feelings on the subject as she broke out in a victory dance…photo IMG_0390_zpsa4cc43e3.jpgphoto IMG_0393_zpse56275f4.jpg
and Landon gave me a pretend sad face over his loss.  photo IMG_0395_zps79353239.jpg
