spring at last...

At last!  Spring is here!  And that means that summer is right around the corner!

It is no secret that I am not a winter person.  As my friends know all too well, I'm ALWAYS freezing which means that cold weather and I don't really do well together.  I don't like trees with no foliage.  I don't enjoy the shortened days and lack of sunshine.

Of course, living in California, especially this year, I can't really complain about the cold.  We had a very mild winter with more warm days than cold.  I'm still glad spring is here.  I am also very thankful that winter is a such a good reminder that seasons change and that nothing lasts forever.  Spring brings the promise of new beginnings.

There are a bunch of blooming trees near my house.  Every day as I drove the kids to school I saw the tiny blossoms budding and then fully bloom.  Every day I told myself that I should stop and take some pictures.  One day I FINALLY remembered my camera and stopped.  It was too pretty not to...

Someone waited for me in the truck...
I love morning light.
And Basil loves riding in the truck with her head out the window.  Every day.  She looks for "puppies", takes in all the smells, and cracks up other drivers.

Speaking of Basil, she is in surgery today due to a lump on her leg and "suspicious cells".  This morning her gleeful ride in the truck led her directly to the vet.  Last night the kids and I were laughing about the fact that she will probably end up with a "cone of shame" .  Poor thing is having surgery and we are laughing at her.  Seriously though…how can you not laugh?!

The steadfast love of the Lord need ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3: 22-23
