catching up...

I am determined to make this work despite my problems with my computer so bear with me.  We will see how it goes.

Landon has been playing basketball now almost every weekend since mid-January.  He LOVES it!

I am amazed when I watch him play.  He just doesn't seem like a little boy anymore.  He no longer has that awkward toddle kids have when they are little and still unsure of their footing.  It doesn't seem like he should be old enough to run and dribble a ball at the same time.  I know he is old enough but sometimes it is so hard to believe that is the same kid who used to loved to bounce in his doorway jumper and sit in his exer-saucer.

Now he is catching rebounds and shooting baskets.    PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
***********

As you may have guessed by my lack of coverage of the subject, Valentine's Day is not one of my favorite holidays.  It may be because we had to put our dog, Jade, to sleep on Valentine's Day three years ago but that isn't really the entire reason.  I actually think it is a pretty ridiculous holiday (if you want to call it that) and I have thought that for a while.  I don't see the point in spending way too much money on roses to tell someone you love them when you could just be showing the person you love them all year long.  My kids like Valentine's Day so I always do something special for them.  Don't worry, I also do a little something for Chris.  Just because I think it is a silly "holiday" doesn't mean he should have to miss out.

Anyway, this year the kids made their own Valentines for their friends at school.  I had this great idea to have them paint hearts on card stock and then cut them out to make individual Valentines.  Photobucket
Painting watercolor hearts is actually quite relaxing. PhotobucketPhotobucket
(I know it is shocking to see Landon without his shirt on.  I have just found that some battles are not worth fighting.  Of course, when I have to visit him in the nudist colony when he gets older we may have an issue.)

I love how they turned out!  They are all so colorful and each one is completely unique.  Photobucket

So that has been our life recently.  Busy but good.

In closing, please pray for Craig.  He has started a new clinical trial to assist in his battle with GBM.  We know God is in control and we pray for the peace that only He can provide and we praise God for the hope that we have in Him.

Be thankful that Landon is enjoying a sport that is played indoors or occasionally outdoors on pavement.
Could be in a few years you'll be wondering why your child feels the need to be in the ocean on a surf board mimicking an hors d'oeuvre so some shark can have a snack.
