To celebrate we had a surf party with some of his friends...
I have to admit I was really excited about the surfing theme. I may have gotten a bit carried away with the sweets...
In years past I have planned a party for Landon and his friends with all sorts of fun activities. Then the day arrives and it is 5000 degrees outside and when I try to get the kids to do the activities they stand and stare at me like I am a crazy person while sweat trickles down their red faces, their hair stuck to their foreheads. So this year I decided a water party was the way to go. The only "non-water" activity I had for them was painting surfboards.
The boys got really involved in painting their boards...
Then it was time for the squirt gun fight! I think they had fun...
Chris got in on the action and the boys started chanting, "Get the dad!!!"
But "the dad" got his revenge...
When it was time for cupcakes Landon broke out the shy smile that reveals that he is having fun but isn't quite sure about everyone staring and singing to him.
The boys loved our "beach" and the tsunami (or as one of Landon's friends told his mom "the sand thing with the salami. A salami, you know, a big wave.")
Papa and Emay got Landon a slip n' slide for his birthday and the kids wasted no time putting it into use...
The party was a blast and Landon had a great time. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he is six years old. My babies are growing up way too fast for me. I am so thankful for them and the amazing kids they are turning out to be.

Water & boys & especially a target aka "The Dad" makes for a great party! I have videos of "The Dad" doing the slip & slide I think can be use as leverage if needed :)
What a fun party! I love the cupcakes! Great job Mommy!
