swim and dance...but not at the same time

Swim lessons ended this week.  I can not believe the difference between this session and the previous one.  They finally bumped Landon up so he wasn't just bobbing and blowing bubbles.  Why they didn't move him up during the last sessions is beyond me.  By the end of the second session he was swimming freestyle and treading water!  He did have to stop a few times between the wall and the teacher but I think if we were to go swimming for fun he could swim in the shallow end by himself.

Btw, the coaches were wearing wetsuits because it was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G in the water.  The first day Ashlyn's coach was the only one wearing a wetsuit and we even heard another guy tell him he was a weenie for not being able to stand the cold water (the kids thought that was pretty funny).  The next day nine out of the twelve swim coaches had wetsuits on!  I don't blame them, my kids always shiver out of the pool with blue lips and those poor coaches are in the frigid water 7 hours of the day!

Ashlyn learned breast stroke and even started learning butterfly during this session!  

The kids loved their coaches.  

Ashlyn drew a picture for her coach (why I didn't take a picture I will never know) and even included his ponytail and "little bitty beard".

I got a few videos of Landon's hip hop class.  I will have videos of Ashlyn after next week.  They even moved her to a well-lit studio (thank God!)!  

It cracks me up to watch the boys because they are so darn cute!  Most of them are not coordinated enough to really do the choreography but they still tried hard.  I love how Landon turns around like "Did you see that, mom?!"
