On Saturday we headed to San Francisco to spend a day with Chris' family. For Christmas Chris' parents gave a Rodney Lough print to both Chris and Craig so we visited his brand new gallery to choose our prints. The gallery is gorgeous, check it out if you get a chance.
We started our day walking along the Embarcadero and we visited the Ferry Building for a little lunch. It was buzzing with people.
Chris is a foodie, as you well know by now, and he has a favorite place in the Ferry building.
Ashlyn and Landon enjoyed the signature "salumi cones" for lunch.

The kids got to check out a live lobster up close.
We knew that we would be doing a lot of walking during the day so we got a little opportunity to rest by taking pedicabs down to Pier 39. We may have been crammed in like sardines but you would be amazed how many people a pedicab rider can pull!
Ashlyn and Landon got up close and personal with some of the uh...natives. I am sorry but these guys just give me the willies! I was zoomed in as far as I could to get a decent picture without having to get anywhere near him.

That night we had dinner at Scoma's, our favorite seafood restaurant in SF.
(For those of you wondering, Ashlyn did not get glasses. She wears these frames everywhere she goes but they don't have any lenses in them. It is purely a fashion choice)
The meal was delicious and mine included some of my favorites...lobster bisque, seared ahi tuna, and a lemon tart for dessert. I seem to have gotten a little excited about the dessert because it was devoured before I could get a good picture!
There are so many amazing sites to see and fun things to do in the city.
Remember when I mentioned experiencing some "firsts"? Well, when we had finished dinner and walked along the Embarcadero back to the Hyatt so we could do our bathroom breaks before taking BART home we saw the Urban Zipline in Justin Herman Plaza. Ashlyn and Landon were dying to try it! My kids are little adrenaline junkies! Unfortunately, Landon missed the age requirement by about six weeks. He was a great sport and watched his sister from the ground. Oh wait, did I say just his sister? I meant his sister... and Papa!
By the end you definitely won't have to question whether Ashlyn enjoyed it or not.
Ashlyn and Papa were both on a major adrenaline high after their flight. Ashlyn could not stop giggling and smiling.
I think Papa liked it too...
Landon had fun with Uncle Craig while he was waiting on Ashlyn.
We had a great day. When we were taking the elevator in the Hyatt down to the street level we talked to two couples and they asked the kids about their day. Ashlyn told them about the zipline and how awesome it was. They all gave her high-fives and one of the ladies told her that she should go to Costa Rica and take the zipline over the rain forest. I think Ashlyn has a new desire... to visit Costa Rica!

So you still don't like the silver guys huh? LOL!
Wish I could go on a trip to SF but I wouldn't go near the salty pig parts store... ew!
So, I've done a zip line and Ashlyn can do a zip line all I need is for Landon to be 6 or both of them taller and waahoo let the fun begin!
Nothing tastier than some salty pig parts!
