I was reminded of this very fact last week when I awoke one morning to this view out of my bedroom window...
What is wrong with this picture? Yes, that is the moon! Seriously, if it still looks like night outside I think we should be able to crawl back in our cozy beds and steal a little more sleep until daylight arrives.
In complete opposition to my busy, way too early weekday mornings this Saturday we slept in and headed to the beach with Memejo. The increasing heat provided the perfect climate for our beach adventure and we soaked it up.
Ashlyn and Landon played tag with the waves, built sandcastles and dug giant holes. The beach is truly one of their favorite places to be.
Ready to run...
Memejo found a way to make gigantic bubbles and the kids laughed and chased the bubbles as they grew and floated higher into the sky.
My girl was leaping and squealing with excitement.
The bubbles splashed brilliant colors like a watercolor painting that danced along the sand.
And look who came to play....
Dommy took the kids deeper into the water than they had ever been. One was a little timid and the other was... well, let's just say Dommy may have a surf buddy in the future.
Ashlyn LOVED diving under the waves...but some one's sunglasses seem to be missing.
And when they came out of the water Ashlyn exclaimed, "That was AWESOME! Let's do it again!"
We stayed at the beach all day. We watched as people came and set up their umbrellas and chairs, ventured out into the water and then packed up everything and went home. We outlasted them all as we watched dolphins, humpback whales and seals surface and then disappear again. Memejo and I had a blast taking pictures and playing in the water with the kids.
Landon was in awe of the boogie boarders...
Ashlyn dug for sand crabs in the waves
As the day came to a close and we packed up to go home I reflected on what an amazing day it was. Joy filled. Life is a blessing. Don't let it slip away.
Thank God for all the joys in your life and find a little laughter in today. Happy Weekend!
