Chris & I recently had the rare opportunity to get out of town together. Chris has been traveling a ton for work this year but the last time the two of us got to get away was our trip to Kauai last year. We were well overdo!
My long-time friend, Theresa put together a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate her 40th birthday & to see Boyz II Men in concert so Chris & I decided to join in on the fun & flew out for a whirlwind 24 hour trip.
Vegas is not really my favorite place but I loved the chance to hang out with Chris & see old friends. These girls... we've grown up together from the time we were little kids. I've known Amber since before Kindergarten when our mom's used to take us to the public library for story hour. I met Theresa in third grade when she transferred to our elementary school & I asked her if she wanted to play with me. Gail was in the same sorority at San Jose State with Theresa & Amber & I was lucky enough to meet her. As the story goes, Gail originally knew me as the reason that Theresa missed her graduation from SJSU. She was occupied with being the maid of honor in my wedding. We've gone on bachelorette weekends to Disneyland, been in or at each other's weddings, gone to baby showers, celebrated births, grieved along with deaths & helped each other get through good times & bad.
Boyz II Men did not disappoint! They were funny, charming & entertaining & their vocals were just as good as they were way back in the early 90's when we were obsessively listening to their songs on repeat.
They transported me right back to my middle school days of school dances, mixed tapes, sleepless sleepovers, eating peanut butter straight out of the jar with m&m's & cassette singles. This was the soundtrack to my childhood...
We had a blast!
