the graduate...

June 5th was the last day of school for Ashlyn & Landon.  For Landon it marked the last day of middle school which meant 8th grade graduation.

I think he is happy to be done although the same could be said for every year of school that he or Ashlyn complete.

Our family is so proud of Landon & how hard he has worked this year.  He has grown so much, not just in stature (5.5 inches!!) but in wisdom & responsibility.  There were definitely some rough days & obstacles along the way but he put in a good deal of effort to overcome .

Sadly, the graduation was at 10:30 in the morning & Ashlyn was taking finals so she wasn't able to attend. After we picked her up from school we enjoyed a celebratory lunch at Puesto.  The bartender was even kind enough to let me go behind the bar to get a picture of everyone.

And then he even offered to get a shot of our whole crew...

As hard as it is to believe, next year Chris & I will have a Junior & a Freshmen in high school. I, for one, am glad that we have almost two months to come to terms with that fact although I'm pretty sure it won't be enough time!

Congratulations, Ashlyn & Landon for all that you have accomplished to complete another year of school!
