Fortnite...

The last day of February.  Where did the month go?  February is a fairly slow month for us.  Well, that's not entirely true, Chris' travel schedule picks up in February so he was quite busy.  At home we only have one night a week with activities outside of the house & I, for one, am enjoying the calm before the storm.

In addition to no activities it has also been raining so much that Landon has been stuck inside.  Usually, he finishes any homework he might have & spends the rest of the day outside with his friends.  As a result, Landon found a new..."hobby".
Yep, he got sucked in to the Fortnite vortex.  I guess you could say that he's still playing with his friends, it's just in a much different platform.
Normally, I love hearing about my kid's interests.  And I am thankful that Landon is one of those kids who will open up & share.  He will tell me about his day, & his friends.  He will ask me questions both simple & complex.  But here's the thing... I'm not interested in video games at all.  When he tries to talk to me about Fortnite I can literally feel my eyes glazing over as he goes on about which skin he is using & how many v-bucks he has today.  I'm trying though.

And while I may not care about the ins & outs of the game itself I do love the player.  This particular day I noticed his hair sticking up on the back of his head like it did when he was a little boy.  As Ashlyn & Landon are getting older I like getting to see tiny reminders of the little kids they used to be.
I am really proud of Landon though.  He saved up his money & purchased an Xbox all by himself.  He researched Playstation vs. Xbox.  He found which place had the best deal.  And when we talked to him about the time limits or restrictions that would be in place he didn't argue or complain at all.

Another example of a sweet childhood sighting.  Who doesn't love a good fort?
Of course, then there's the Fortnite dances.  They used to drive me crazy but on a recent night they had us all laughing hysterically...
Ashlyn isn't playing Fortnite but she is still logging driving hours & is doing a great job.

Goodbye February, Spring is right around the corner!
