Thanksgiving 2017...

Our first holiday break is almost over.  The week was just as I hoped it would be.  No major plans, time for hanging with the family, plenty of time for Landon to play & a few activities thrown in, just to add to the fun.

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving spent with family.  It was a small group but full of good food, love & laughter...

I think Pepper enjoyed her first Thanksgiving too. After the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade she spent a good deal of time attacking the TV while the national dog show contestants pranced across the screen.

While she wasn't being cuddled that is...

Thanksgiving is Chris' favorite holiday of the year.  He is in his element creating delicious food for all of us to enjoy.  This year he said, "I'm not making a turkey this year.  I know its tradition but no one really likes it.  I don't really see any point in continuing a tradition that no one likes."

Instead of turkey we had porchetta.  Honestly, it was too delicious to describe.  Let's just say, no one missed the turkey.

Seriously, look at all that juiciness!

I think we could all stand to recognize everything we have to be thankful for more than once a year.  If I really stop & think about it I'm humbled & amazed by what the Lord has blessed me with in my life.  From the seemingly small things that we get the privilege to enjoy, like a vivid sunset during Thanksgiving dinner...

to very big things like the people we are blessed to share this life with (which includes not only these beautiful souls but many more who didn't share the day with us).
