national hot chocolate day...

Today I got a text from Ashlyn while she was at school that said, "ITS NATIONAL HOT CHOCOLATE DAY!!!! WE SHOULD MAKE SOME EXOTIC ONE!"

I had no idea that national hot chocolate day was even a thing but these days everything seems to have a national day of celebration.

As soon as we got home Ashlyn looked up some gourmet hot chocolate recipes and said that she was making me Chai Hot Chocolate with coconut milk "so you won't get a stomach ache."





I love her sweet spirit.  I love that she thought to make something special for me and that she even took my allergies into consideration.



She requested that I give her the camera so that she could take some pictures of me enjoying my hot chocolate. I think she did a pretty good job.


On another note, this is the first time I have taken my camera out since Thanksgiving.  It's no secret that January is NOT my favorite month.  I am totally over winter, and am feeling creatively stuck.  I decided that I am going to just try to get my camera out a little every day, even if I have no idea what to photograph.

I have a feeling I will end up with a whole lot of pictures of Basil. hahaha
