Hal & Jenny took classes, studied type one diabetes and even took a test that Chris & I created to prepare them for taking care of Landon while we were away. I knew that our kids would do just fine without us. They have spent many weeks away with Memejo or at camp. Of course, this was the first time we would be leaving Landon since he was diagnosed with diabetes. This was just another example of how God has been teaching me this year that I am not the one in control. He is - and I can trust Him completely.
So off we flew to Florida where we boarded the Allure of the Seas. This was the first time we saw our stateroom which overlooked the boardwalk.

And the view at night...

We could see the Aqua Theater from our balcony and could watch the divers as they practiced. Those two silhouettes down at the end of the row of staterooms are our friends, Brent & Casey.

Our first stop was Nassau, Bahamas. As you can see, our ship was huge. That is a Carnival Cruise ship next to ours and it pales in comparison.

We spent most of the day at the pool...

until it started pouring.

Brent was determined to hold on to his front row chairs despite the rain.

The sky eventually cleared and we went back to our chairs in the sun.

We hit another storm at sea after we departed from the Bahamas. Chris caught this amazing shot of the lightening storm with his phone.

He cleans up nicely, doesn't he? :)

Rest assured, I did not eat four meals. Technically, I ordered two because I wanted to try them both. Chris and Brent thought it would be hilarious to make it look like I ate my meals plus both of theirs.

And an awkward prom pose to finish out the night...

More of our vacation to come...
