baseball concentration...

Landon is continuing to enjoy baseball season.  His team has played six games and are currently undefeated.  Up until the last game none of the other teams had even scored against them.

Landon got hit with a wild pitch during this particular game.  He was able to shake it off and rather than just taking his free base he opted to try again.  Insert proud mommy moment here...photo IMG_0370_zps125bb725.jpg
On one of his recent Saturday games Papa and Emay came to join Landon's cheering section.  I almost caught a rare moment of Hal looking at the camera and smiling at the same time but just as I snapped the picture he turned his head.  I promptly called him a "butthead" to which he flashed an even bigger smile that I also didn't capture.

Landon has still been pitching quite a bit.  When he really focuses on his mechanics he does a great job.  photo IMG_0373_zps6095358f.jpgphoto IMG_0376_zpsfbc01d99.jpg
I love the look of concentration that he gets when he is pitching.  It's the subconscious pull of his face that he gets when he is totally absorbed in the pitch.  For an active kid who is easily distracted this focus is pretty amazing.  I wish I could get him to focus that hard on his homework. photo IMG_0382_zps7b692791.jpgphoto IMG_0384_zps43308817.jpgphoto IMG_0381_zpsd04c2d59.jpg
There are so many moments while I am watching him play that I think, "that is my baby out there..."  As a mom it gives me such a sense of pride to see my kids doing something they love.  photo IMG_0385_zpse61381b3.jpgphoto IMG_0365_zpsce9cfc02.jpg
