starry night...

I realized that I haven't shared an art project in quite a while.  Our lesson this month was on Vincent Van Gogh and included a lesson on texture.  The kids also learned about foreground, middle ground and backgrounds as well.

We looked at some of Van Gogh's paintings including Starry Night and then the kids created their own versions of the painting using chalk dipped in white paint.

Landon and I tested out the project before I presented it to the class.

When I asked him what he thought about the project Landon said it was a lot of fun.  He really liked getting messy.  Hey, sometimes you have to get messy to create good art!
